If Robert & Kristen Marry Young, Can It Last Forever?

Hollywoodlife Robert Pattinson is a true romantic, and maybe it’s in his genes! His parents are a big part of his life, and he’s been inspired by their long-term love story. HollywoodLife.com asks The Love Consultants — professional matchmaker and dating coach Matt Titus and his wife, author and media personality Tamsen Fadal — if this bodes well for his love with Kristen Stewart!

Matt’s Take:
Rob, 24, attended the NYC premiere for Water For Elephants with both his parents and girlfriend/Breaking Dawn co-star Kristen, 21. You can see by the body language between these two — hands interlocked, leaning close to each other, big smiles — that they are a real couple who is deeply in love. And let me tell you something, I LOVE these two together!

Yes, I know they are young, but they’ve weathered the massive storm of publicity for their ongoing Twilight movie franchise like pros, and that shared experience has definitely bonded them deeply. One of the most important things I advise my Love Consultant clients to have with their significant others is shared experiences. I know that strong common ground is key to relationship success! Plus it doesn’t hurt that they are totally fantastic as Edward and Bella — they are each great young actors. Another shared trait!

Robert has talked about how his parents married young — his mother was only 17 and his father just 25 when they first met — and that they are still together. The question is: Does this bode well for him and Kristen?

I say YES. Family relationships, or the lack thereof, have an enormous effect on how you navigate your own. Robert introduced Kristen to his parents early in their courtship and that was a really smart move. It’s one of the toughest jobs to do in a serious romance. It is very important that the first impression should be good. By all accounts, she passed with flying colors. Maybe Robert’s parents saw a bit of their younger selves in the young lovebirds!

If Rob grew up in a household with healthy emotions, then he can’t help but model his relationships on that positive experience. You can learn from your parents how to deal positively with conflicts. And being a young Hollywood superstar, you’re going to have conflicts — especially when you are the world’s favorite vampire!

I’m on your “team” Rob and Kristen, keep your young romance going strong!

Tamsen’s Take:

Rob and Kristen are serious and in love, and I am thrilled for them. They’re one of the hottest couples in Hollywood, and things between look better than ever. Laughing, kissing, glowing, they even partied with Rob’s parents at the Water For Elephants premiere — the very definition of fun and healthy when it comes to a relationship!

Rob’s parents married young and are still together, that give both he and Kristen a clear view that young love can prevail — if both parties are truly committed and understand what it takes.

One of the foundations of a lasting relationship is commitment to each other, and to making the romance work. Kristen and Robert have been through a great deal together, the incredible pressure of their leading roles of Edward and Bella, managing the huge amount of interest from fans and the media.

They get an A+ from this relationship expert! It’s wonderful watching them grow together. Usually when it comes to young Hollywood romances, it’s like watching a car crash! Not with these two.

The fact that Rob has been able to refer to his own parents’ happy marriage, at a young age, is one of the stabilizing factors to his own success. Children are influenced by their parents in ways that they usually don’t fully understand realize. How they view relationships, how they manage their lives, how they’ll eventually parent their own children are all a result of what kind of home they grew up in.

I have great hopes that Rob and Kristen will be together for a long. long time! Actually, they can keep the love “alive” forever if they want — they’re immortal! Hey, I’m a Twilight fan, too!!
